Cookie Policy
Last updated 14 September 2026
This notice explains cookies and similar browser storage used by Booking Directly. For information about the operator, purposes, legal grounds, recipients and your rights, read our Privacy Policy.
Cookies and browser storage used by the site
- PHPSESSID — session cookie. Maintains your session, sign-in and form security. It is set as a browser-session cookie; browser settings, including session restoration, can affect when it is removed.
- bd_prelaunch — preview cookie. Used during the prelaunch phase to help the site display the appropriate preview experience. It is set as a browser-session cookie; server-side access checks also apply.
- bd_cookie_consent — local storage. Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice. Despite its technical name, this records an acknowledgement, not consent to optional tracking or marketing. The site does not set a timed expiry for this entry.
- bd_recent_v1 — local storage. Holds up to eight recently viewed properties for the recently viewed feature. It remains until cleared or replaced as you view more properties; there is no timed expiry.
- bd_rates_advanced — local storage. Remembers whether a host has opened the advanced rate options. There is no timed expiry; it remains until changed or cleared.
Local storage is kept in your browser rather than sent automatically with every request like a cookie. The recently viewed list is stored locally, but property views and contact-link clicks can also be recorded separately on our server, including IP addresses and account identifiers when signed in. See the Privacy Policy for those records.
Third-party resources
Google Maps, route services and Google Fonts load on relevant pages. Some requests happen as a page loads. They send technical information to Google; map and route features can also send the locations involved. Third-party resources may use their own cookies or other storage. Google explains its practices in its Privacy Policy. Other externally hosted resources may receive request information when displayed.
The site's acknowledgement banner is not a control for accepting or rejecting each third-party resource. Dismissing it does not itself authorise optional cookies, tracking or marketing.
Managing your browser data
Your browser's privacy or site-data settings let you inspect, remove or block cookies and local storage. Removing them may sign you out, reset preferences or clear recently viewed properties. Blocking third-party resources may prevent maps or other features from working. Browser controls do not remove information already recorded on our server; contact us about that information using the rights process in our Privacy Policy.
